Last weekend Mazarrón kicked off their Carnival with the group dinner during which the poster and the news of this year were presented. The Mayor of Mazarrón, Gaspar Miras, the Councillor of Festejos, Miguel Ángel Peña, and the Mayors of the government team Ginés Campillo, Plácida Gómez, José María Moreno, Raquel Raja, Silvia García and Francisco José García, were “disguised” for the occasion.
The Mayor and the Councillor of Festejos presented the poster of the Carnival of Mazarrón 2020 accompanied by the muses and muses of last year, which illustrate the publication. Gaspar Miras wished everyone present to “enjoy these celebrations very much” praising the effort that year after year the clubs and groups make “so that the Carnival is getting bigger and more important”, reiterating the City Council’s commitment to all of them to continue in that line of growth and “promotion of this party outside our municipality”.
On February 22 and 23, the Children’s and Adult parades will take place respectively, both starting at 5 pm from La Paz Garden. On Monday 24, one of the novelties is celebrated with a children’s show about the Carnival of Venice in the municipal tent at 6pm. On Saturday 29 more news arrive as the I Carnival of Pets, organized together with the Department of Animal Welfare, also in the municipal tent at 6pm.
The party will continue that Saturday in the tent with the performance of the chirigota of La Albatalía, which will be followed by the performances by local DJs with a fancy dress contest. The Carnival will end on Sunday, March 1 with the parade of foreign clubs and the winning groups from the local parade.
