Mazarrón Athletics Club has again stood out in a regional sporting event to get 12 medals in different sports and sport-related categories. The success took place in May in the town of Alhama de Murcia where they celebrated the end of the Regional Championship in Athletics Outdoor childrens and cadet categories. The metals were achieved for 5 athletes of the club, of which four participated in cadet category and one in childrens category.
In Cadet, Sara Vals Meseguer again demonstrated that she is one of the best athletes in the Region receiving two gold medals, one silver and one bronze. Vals was champion of the 100 meter run and 300m hurdles and runner up on 100m hurdles, also winning third place in the javelin throw. She was the club’s most prolific athlete during that day.
Ismael Belhaki Rivas, also in cadet category, won two gold medals. Like his companion Vals, Belhaki excelled in both the 100 and 300 meter runs in which he was regional champion. In the same category competitor Ernesto Segura Garcia also won a silver and two bronzes. Segura was runner-up in long jump and third in the 100 and 300 meter runs. The last cadet silver medal went to Jaime Raja Aparicio who was runner-up in shot put, being seventh in discus.
In Children category, responsible for representing the Mazarrón Club Atletismo was Pedro Martinez Conesa who won two more medals, one gold and one bronze. This athlete was regional champion in the childs javelin and also finishing third in 150 meter run. In addition, Martinez was fourth in the 80 meter run completing a great performance. The Department of Sports City of Mazarrón congratulates these 5 athletes and the club for their great successes.
