The number of potential new volunteers who attended the recent Mabs meeting was fantastic, this was in response to a volunteer drive held after the September Welcome meeting, thank you Maureen and Rosemary for allowing us to do this. New people are always welcome we especially need a few more men! No special skills are required just the ability to listen and to care.

There has been a lot of money raised this year on our behalf, Jane’s Outside Catering raised 1,150 euros from a fiesta night held on B Commercial Centre with a barbecue, games and a bouncy castle for the children, everybody who attended said what a fantastic night it was, well done Jane. Thank you also to Sunset Casas for allowing Jane to use their electricity.

Emma, Danny and customers of the Davimar Bar in Puerto De Mazarron raised a fantastic 1,735 euros from raffles, auctions and Karaoke. The money raised was originally intended for a customer who is himself suffering from cancer but he wished it to be donated to Mabs. With unselfishness such as his what can we say but thank you. Along with our thanks to all of you. It means we can continue to take all our cancer patients for their hospital and clinic appointments, support them and their families during their treatment and hopefully back on the road to recovery. As a lot of our work is done over the phone it also means we wont have to worry about telephone bills this year.
So once again a big, big thank you.

It is always with sadness when we receive donations from funeral and memorial services, we are grateful for your kindness in thinking of us at what is a very distressing and sad time for the family concerned.

Our volunteers give their time freely and without remuneration, they do so because most of us have at some time been touched by cancer, either personally or by a family member or friend. There will be numerous stalls selling cakes, gifts, cards, books, clothing, perfume, jewellery, linen, preserves, English sweets, tombola and much more. There will be something for everybody, you can buy all your Christmas presents under one roof as well as supporting Mabs. Look forward to seeing you all there.

If you have cancer or know of anybody needing our support please tele 620 422 410 we have information on all kinds of cancer, offer volunteers drivers to take cancer patients to hospital appointments, stay with them and then return them back home.

When patients are being cared for at home volunteers are willing to give the carer a much needed break to either go shopping or maybe just have a coffee with a friend. If either the patient or carer wish to discuss any worries they may have we promise complete confidentiality. As we are not a medical organisation we are unfortunately unable to offer direct medical care.
