There was another great day out for the 20 golfers of Los Reyes at Lorca, with two guest Martin and Lenny. The course was in beautiful condition; the fairways were super and the greens were looking good. All it needed was some good golf! Not to disappoint, the golf was great with some really good scores.
The format was a Pinehurst which helped the higher handicap players as the ravines needed some big drives to reach the fairways on some holes. Each player took three drives and then playing their own ball from there, all scoring a Stableford score.
One drive on the 18th from the ‘Bubba Watson’ of the group saw him drive all the way from tee to green, 248 mtrs – a par four, only to miss the eagle putt, but to get a wee birdie and all the team benefitted from his drive by all getting birdies.
The winning team of Neil MacFarlane, Kevin Jones, Paul Davis and Dave Perry scored 174 points with only two ‘no scores’ by all four players. One par three produced a big score as all recorded a two.
It was good to see Barry back after a long lay off.
The next event is at La Torre on June 11th so be sure to add your name to the list.
