Tuesday, 6th February and our second outing of 2018, saw 38 members venturing southwards to Aguilon on what started off as a cold day, but it warmed up nicely as the day wore on. The course was in very good condition and the greens were quite fast, presenting problems to most of us as we tried to make a noteworthy score.

Geoff Ewins, Winner Div. 1

The format for the day was a Singles Stableford resulting in mixed fortunes experienced by the members, some of whom finished with scores that would go down in history as something to forget. Conversely, at least one member achieved his best ever score at Aguilon.

As usual, there were some amusing moments and one particular member not usually known for strolling on the beach seemed to have found a new vocation and spent most of his round in and out of the bunkers. We already have a member with the pseudonym of ‘Mr. Sandman’!  However, in the interests of friendly competition, we now have ‘Sandy Neilson’.

Jim McCormack, Winner Div 2

Our Presentation Evening was held on Wednesday 7th February in the Camposol Golf Club with a record attendance by members and their wives and partners.
