Captain’s Day Mystery Tour
The day began with our annual trip to Valle Del Este for our Captain’s Day event, but with a twist this time as the coach company sent us a driver who had either never driven before, had no licence or drove with a blindfold on!
After driving around the roundabout three times we were on our way. At the motorway toll it was another first for most of us; reversing back out three times until we found the correct lane! We eventually arrived a little later than usual, but it was the correct course.
On arrival we enjoyed the breakfast served up by Karen and her team, then it was time for the golf, with 42 players splitting into two teams; a Service’s Team (anyone who ever wore a uniform including the brownies) and a Civilian Team (more commonly known as taxpayers). The game consisted of three six hole games, a four ball, a foursome and a match play. The course was in super condition and it’s always a pleasure to play. There were lots of laughs and some good golf enjoyed by most of us. The winning team however was the Services, once the Captain who had played for them had fixed the cards. A large amount of alcohol was consumed (not by the driver) and it was back home.
Thanks again to the clubhouse staff for some great food on our presentation night. Our next away day is at Lo Romero on 4th June.
