We were all ‘in the pink’ at our October meeting, in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness. €200 was raised by holding a coffee afternoon in September! Well done to all our members!

At the October meeting we heard from Age Concern Costa Cálida. This is a fantastic group who provide a wide range of services for the over 50’s in our area; everything from advice and information regarding services available to medical equipment hire. They also have a full calendar of events throughout the year. I am seriously thinking about joining them for the sponsored New Year’s Day Swim in Puerto de Mazarrón.  How hard can it be?!! For more information contact details are in this month’s Costa Cálida Chronicle.

We also had a talk from MABS Mazarrón about the wonderful work they do. MABS provide help, support and information for cancer sufferers and their families. Again, contact details in this month’s magazine. We are lucky to have such amazing groups based here in this area.

We have welcomed many new members to Chatterbox this season. It is great to meet new members. We as a group continue to grow and we have some exciting events planned:

November Meeting on Thursday 14th November

We will be thinking about Christmas with 2 presentations.

Turkey & Tinsel Trip on Tuesday 26th November

This includes a visit to Iceland store, San Javier for those wishing to begin stocking up for the festive season. We will also be celebrating the start of the festivities with a slap up Christmas meal. The wearing of Christmas jumpers is optional but encouraged!  AAGGH! It’s 30 degrees outside as I am writing this!

Chatterbox meetings are held every 2nd & 4th Thursday from 2pm-4pm at the Social Centre, Camposol B. Everyone is welcome to come along. New members are always welcome. Just come to a meeting or contact one of the committee for a chat.

For further information about Chatterbox, check Facebook Ladies Chatterbox Group.

Chatterbox is committed to creating an environment which is welcoming to all. We understand the importance of meeting for company and chat, particularly if living alone and far from family. We look forward to seeing old and new friends in November.
