Our speaker last month was Baz Hamilton, President and Trainer for FAST, who gave us a very interesting talk about the work that this great organisation does for the people of Camposol.
Chatterbox meets every 2nd and 4th Thursday at 2pm at the Social Centre, Camposol B and all ladies are welcome. Our annual subscription is 10€, which entitles you to a reduced rate on all our trips, or you can come along for an afternoon for 2€ to ‘try us out’.
At our 11th April meeting, we are taking a trip down memory lane. We are asking ladies to bring any item which brings memories of their youth, whether it be clothing (do you still have your wedding dress or photo?), household item which you have had forever, memorabilia from past historic events ( Royal weddings, Coronation, Pop Memorabilia). We will put these on display for the afternoon and if you wish, you can tell us about your memory. There will be some nostalgic music and hopefully lots of memories shared. Strawberries and cream will be served with tea and coffee.
On Thursday 25th April, it is our ‘coffee and chat’ afternoon. Drop in anytime between 2pm and 4pm. You can be guaranteed there will be someone to chat to. We are beginning a collection of food for the local poor, which will be ongoing at our coffee afternoons. A list of the tinned or dried food which is required can be found on our Facebook page.
During the afternoon meeting of Thursday 9th May, a representative from EMERGENSI is coming to give us a presentation about their company. EMERGENSI provide a translation service and much more. They can liaise with medical staff at hospital visits and provide personal or telephone language support in an emergency. This would be an invaluable service in times of crisis and would be of interest to anyone living here without a good command of Spanish.
We are now taking bookings for our Trip To Elche on Tuesday 30th April. The coach will leave Camposol at 9.30am, returning at 4pm.
Tickets are priced at 15€ for members and 17€ for non-members, which includes coach, admission to the wonderful Palm Gardens and a scenic ride on a train around the gardens. There are plenty of restaurants for lunch and if anyone is coming alone, we will be arranging a group lunch for those who wish to join it.
Plans are already afoot for our summer party in June. Watch this space for further details.
A very Happy Easter to all our members.
