March brought a mixture of highs and lows for our team. We were asked to help yet another two little dogs made homeless when their owner at Isla Plana passed away. This is such a sad scenario for them in the latter years of their lives after having such loving secure homes. Happily the little dogs, Socks and Taffy, now have new homes waiting and will be travelling to the UK in April.

One of our rescues, Wee Girl, needed to have surgery for stones in her bladder. We knew the surgery would be risky because of her age and a seriously enlarged heart condition, but the pain she was enduring when trying to pee could no longer be ignored, so we made the decision to operate. We have the most amazing vet, Angel, at CV Huercal Overa and were overjoyed when he called to say the surgery was complete and that she could come home. Wee Girl will now have her forever home with us, hopefully pain free.

Our fundraiser featuring The Liverpool Band, an amazing Beatles Tribute, was very well received and 245 supporters enjoyed another fabulous night with these talented guys, raising almost 2,000€ and enabling us to settle a very large outstanding invoice for veterinary treatment for our rescues. We are indeed very grateful to those who supported the event. The Liverpool Band will be returning to us in the New Year, but until then they can be enjoyed at the Camposol Fiesta on 24th August.

Not ones to rest on our laurels, we are now excited to be bringing back ABBA ELITE for another great night on 27th April. Tickets for that event are already selling at Mister Print on Camposol B. As the saying goes “You’ve seen the rest, now see the best!” That will be followed by a joint venture with San Animal Santuario featuring a May Fayre and Auction on May 18th, again at Mariano’s, so dig out those unwanted items and turn them into cash!

As always we are grateful for any donated items to sell in our shop and are able to collect.
