Forget Me Not continues to meet new people and discuss how Alzheimer’s affects them. Dementia doesn’t just affect the person living with dementia; it affects the whole family
Forget Me Not feels that it helps carers to talk about their personal issues. Sometimes just talking and sharing can be a big help and comfort.
Forget Me Not offers free respite care every Monday morning from 10.30am-1.30pm at the Cultural Centre, Camposol B. From the donations received, Forget Me Not employs two qualified nurses to attend our meetings every week. We also have many trained volunteers to give support where needed. Our mornings are relaxed and stimulating, with our clients enjoying various activities. We welcome not only people with dementia, but also those with any long term illness/medical condition. Any carer that feels that they need some free respite care will also be welcomed.
On Monday 9th October The Sing Along Group entertained us once again. We had a brilliant morning singing our hearts out to some of our old favourites; lots of singing and lots of laughter, thank you to you all. Come back & see us soon.
Forget Me Not is a self-funded registered charity. We rely on local donations and fund raising events. Our monthly Jumble Sales have proved very popular with some amazing bargains to be had by all. We hold our Jumble Sales on the first Saturday of each month. The next sale will be on Saturday 4th November from 10.30am-1pm. We also hold a weekly Book and CD Sale every Monday at the Cultural Centre from 11am-1pm.
Forget Me Not was happy to receive a donation of €350 from the disbanded Masquerade Musical Group. Diane Jose presented the donation to our Treasurer Colin Thackwell. We have always had a close relationship with the group and thank them very much.
Forget Me Not would once again like to say a big thank you to all of you that have donated to our cause. If you have any jumble or bric-a-brac, we will be really happy to accept it on any Monday from 10.30am-1.30pm at the Cultural Centre, Camposol B.
