Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, Forget Me Not are unable to meet until after the COVID-19 restrictions are lifted and we are all safe.
Forget Me Not aims to offer free respite care for Carers of people with Alzheimer’s/Dementia, or any long-term illness. When we can meet up again please pop along and meet our team on any Monday morning for a cup of tea and an informal chat. They will be happy to meet you once we are able to. We miss you all.
Forget Me Not encourages Carers to enjoy some time for themselves, knowing that the person that they care for is in capable and qualified hands. The service is free thanks to the generosity of local individuals and groups that have donated and raised funds for Forget Me Not over the years and we thank everyone who has donated in any way to this small but essential group.
No experience is necessary; just an understanding of dementia, empathy and a smile. We are in need of more volunteers as the number of people needing our help is always growing. There are fully qualified nurses to chat and give support to you and anyone who comes to our meetings.
Ibex Insurance have chosen Forget Me Not to raffle a fabulous hamper containing lots of delicious festive goodies as well as a €50 fuel voucher. Our thanks go to Ibex for always supporting us. The draw for the raffle will have taken place on 17th December and we will announce the winners in the February issue of the Costa Cálida Chronicle.
Finally, we hope that you all enjoyed a Happy Healthy Christmas and we wish you a Happy New Year.
We hope that 2021 will be a good year for us all and hopefully we can socialise again soon.
