In A Medical Emergency Call 112 Then Call FAST On 968 970 626
CST/FASTis a fully registered and insured charity whose sole purpose is to serve the emergency medical needs of everyone who lives or visits Camposol. All Responders and Instructors are volunteers who give their time for the people of Camposol.
If you have to call for an ambulance, ensure the call to 112 informs the operator the nature of the incident. You will be asked a series of questions so the operator puts your call on the correct priority. You can ask for an operator to speak in your language if you do not speak Spanish.
FAST was called out 18 times in November resulting in 11 ambulances being called. You can call any time day or night we aim to give 24/7 cover.
We will be announcing soon, a series of trips for the New Year.
FAST has a bookcase full of books in The Diner on Camposol B. We only ask for a donation to take your pick and feel free to return books there. Thanks to The Diner for this opportunity to boost our funds. We have applied for the correct licence to operate the bookstall and hopefully it will soon arrive.
Call in to Camposol Golf Club on Wednesday mornings and see Tony. He will give you details of FAST and he has pens, key rings etc.
Don’t forget the famous FAST Nurses and Doctors; they are on the dual carriage way on Mondays. Give them a wave and your spare cash. They are always extremely grateful and get to smile and wave and sometimes curtsy to all passersby. Thank you all for your kind donations during 2018 which allow us to purchase the latest equipment for use on Camposol.
We are always ready to welcome new or returning members to the team, whether it is as a First Responder or a Supporter. Responders are all trained to Murcian Health Authority standards and verified by EMS in the UK. The shifts that are covered can be 6, 12 or 24 hours to suit the individual. There is no need to have previous knowledge of First Aid as all training will be provided free of charge. A new recruit training course was held on the week commencing 5th November. The new Responders are now on the roster. Training is carried out for Responders every Tuesday at the Social Centre, Camposol B. Come along to see what we do.
The Supporter’s role in CST\FAST is as important as the Responders. Without dedicated Supporters, FAST would not be able to operate. If you have some time free and wish to help, please come along to our training sessions on a Tuesday morning at the Social Centre or email firstname.lastname@example.org
On a recent call the 061 Ambulance arrived and put a patient on a drip. They were quite inventive. (See photo)
All FAST members would like to wish all a very happy and healthy New Year.
Have you filled in the contact details of your relatives or friends on the last page of your passport? This is important if they need to be contacted in an emergency.
