Next Friday, February 15 at 11am, the exhibition ‘Hombres y Barcos’ opens at the Casa del Mar in Puerto de Mazarrón. The exhibition, which can be seen until March 10, is organized by the Ministry of Defense in collaboration with the City of Mazarrón.
The Technical General Secretariat of the Ministry of Defense, through the Subdirectorate General of Publications and Cultural Heritage, brings to Mazarrón a set of sixty-five photographs made up of current copies based on the originals of the negatives preserved in the Naval Museum of Madrid. These images have been selected from more than two hundred which appeared in the book of the same title, published in 2007 by the General Subdirectorate of Documentation and Publications, within the collection dedicated to military photography, which aims to disseminate the heritage made up of historical photography conserved by the Ministry of Defense.
With this exhibition there is an extensive tour through this stage of the history of the Spanish Navy. Through the exposed images you can see the technical and formal evolution of the Navy from the immediate period to the Industrial Revolution to a fully technical Navy, as it appears in the years of the Republic.
