Until October 13, you can visit in the exhibition hall of the Universidad Popular(UP) located on the Avenida Constitución de Mazarrón (ground floor building of the (CIME) the exhibition of Moisés Yagües called ‘This is not cinema’. The exhibition was inaugurated by the author himself who was accompanied by the Councillor for Education, Conchi Aparicio, the Councillor for Services, Tomás Ureña, the Councillor for Sports, Francisco José García, and the director of the Universidad Popular of Mazarrón, José María López Ballesta.

The works of the exhibition, based on famous films, do not obey the mere pleasure because its theme is related to the themes that most interest the artist such as loneliness, the impossibility of fruitful communication or inexpressible desire, among other feelings that concern the human being. Among the films to which Yagües’ works refer are films by Woody Allen, Pedro Almodóvar, Ang Lee, David Lynch, Kim Ki Duk, Frank Capra and Krzysztof Kieslowski, amongst others.

As Yagües himself explained “it is a compilation that has evolved and in this exhibition there is a selection of works, as it is a very broad project that I have been working on, as well as in other series”. For his part, López Ballesta described the show as “tremendously suggestive” and revealed that “I have been behind this for two years to bring it to Mazarrón.” The Councillor for Education, Conchi Aparicio, congratulated the artist for “this great work with a very personal and differentiating style that we love having in Mazarrón.”

The exhibition can be visited from Monday to Friday from 10 am to 1 pm in the morning and from 8 pm to 10 pm in the afternoon. The exhibition is promoted by the Institute of Cultural Industries of the Arts (ICA) of the Region of Murcia.
