It’s a Cavalli Foundation mystery
Every summer camp we organise is better than the last – so say the kids! We’ve had the most amazing summer so far with wonderful kids and loads of fun. All the animals enjoyed having the kids around. It was a time for treats, loves and cuddles
Lois and Livvy Hamilton from Hong Kong joined us for the July camp and they made good friends with all the others learning Spanish and teaching English and even giving Chinese classes. They both learnt a lot more about dressage and show jumping and about how to take care of horses and ponies. Lois especially was Veronica’s right hand when it came to sorting out cuts, bruises, scratches and summer allergies. On their last day they brought baby sister Lia to ride and we all shed a tear when it was time for them to leave.
Amidst all this happiness we also had a great sadness. We had to say farewell to our wonderful Pixie; ‘Pixie the princess pony’. It came as a complete shock. At 4pm she was perfect, loose in the arena with her friends, trotting around and getting into mischief, as always. An hour later we found her lying dead on the ground. She was lavished with hugs and cuddles that morning. In fact you could say she was loved to death, but we all know that horse play can get a bit rough. We believe that she was caught in the cross fire and received a kick that wasn’t meant for her. Our Pony Club pupils surprised me more than ever with their values and the great heart they have. They made a beautiful video of Pixie during her last days with us to cheer us up.
August camp finished with Reina and the kids doing a session of yoga and a salute to the sun. Our next camp is scheduled from 31st August, through 1st – 4th September.
