Hi everybody! Hope you all have a happy build-up to the Festive Season. We wish you a wonderful Christmas, a brilliant end to the Old Year and an amazing start to the New Year, 2020.
The past month has been crazy at Cavalli Foundation. We had a great interview with Ruma Jordan at Costa Cálida Radio to talk about our work and about our Crowdfunding Campaign. Ruma made us feel at home and it was easy to talk about what we hoped to achieve, the building of paddocks, shelters and all the infrastructure we need to take the 70 animals we have in refuge up to the new ranch. Thanks for that, Ruma!
Our campaign was launched on Guy Fawkes Day with an explosion of donations. There’s a Justgiving being run by our Scottish Veterinary students from Glasgow University. Their major Fundraising Event was a climb up Ben Lomond on November 18th, snow permitting! Alfie succeeded in finishing his ‘24 hour Sponsored Silence’ which put more than 100€ in the pot. Now he’s working on ‘Guess how many Sweets in the Jar’. There’ll be a ‘Cake Bake’ up in Scotland at the end of the month and several ‘Birthday Fundraisers’ through Facebook.
On Sunday, December 1st our Pony Club Kids held the first Cavalli Foundation Fayre, organised and run by the pupils of our Saturday morning Pony Club as a Fundraising Event.
A word of thanks to Sue and Brian Knox for donating some lovely Lladro figures, collections of angels, for us to sell or auction. Many thanks to you both! We’d also like to say “Thank You” to Kevin at the Clover Bar, Condado de Alhama, who is going to donate all the takings of their Annual Christmas Raffle to our Crowdfunding Campaign. Please go along to the Clover Bar for a drink or a bite to eat, buy your raffle tickets and get the chance to win a great Christmas Prize.
With your support and your donations we will be able to take in more mistreated and abandoned animals we find, whether they be horses, dogs, guinea pigs, whatever and we will be able to save horses, ponies and donkeys from slaughter for meat. Not only that, we will also be able to continue our therapeutic and educational projects such as Equitación Temprana III, the third cycle of Early Learning Riding for children from 0-6 years old with development issues being sponsored by a generous donation from the members of Making a Difference.
By the time this issue comes out our Campaign will almost be at an end on 10th December, but you can still make donations through our website www.cavallifoundation.org or through our Facebook page.
