Vero + Reina At Alma Montessori
Vero + Reina At Alma Montessori

From the morning Veronica, Reina and Luna visited the Alma Montessori School in Pozo Estrecho, there has developed a marvellous working relationship with staff, pupils and parents.  Our book, ‘Nevado The Cock-A-Doodle-Doo Who Lost His Voice’ has become a reference of values for the children, which we are very happy about.

Vet doing India’s Endoscopy
Vet doing India’s Endoscopy

Bad weather during the month of March gave rise to lots of ailments amongst our veteran horses.  First of all we had our small pony, India, suffering from lung problems which didn’t respond to treatment with antibiotics, but seemed to get worse.  Our vets came to take the situation in hand.  First we did an endoscopy on India that resulted in the discovery of a chronic lung complaint.  Our handsome boy, Tinker, has ligament problems that are causing him to wobble on his back legs.  For him the solution is more work, with Cavaletti, walks uphill and downhill and lunging.  Lily and Lexi both saw the specialist in Craniosacral Therapy.  Our older horses are the ones that have accompanied us throughout the years since we started in 2005 as META riding centre.

Volunteer Formation Course
Volunteer Formation Course

We have finished the Volunteer’s course financed by Alhama Council.  Eight young women have been coming to us to do the practical side of the course they started online just after Christmas. The end result is a group of Volunteers specialised in the welfare and wellbeing of horses.  Cavalli Foundation is very proud of the work done, both by teachers and students.

Our next professional challenge will be practical work for two students studying horse management and husbandry at the CIFEA Agricultural School in Lorca.
