Hacienda Riquelme Golfing Away Day

On Friday 27th January the CGA are organising a golfing away day at Hacienda Riquelme, the first tee time will be 10.42am.

The price should be 37€ with a buggy but the CGA are sponsoring their members by 7€, thereby making the price 30€ with a buggy. Other golfers are welcome but they will not get sponsorship. Enough tee times have been booked for 40 golfers and to date 37 of them have been taken up. On our return to Camposol we will be having a 3 course meal at the Trevi Bar with a glass of wine for 12€, to which non-playing golfing partners are more than welcome.

Captain’s Drive-In and Christmas Meat Competition

This was due to take place on 16th December when the new Captain Des Bunn was to be the first to tee off and there are bets taken as too how far Des can drive the first ball. Unfortunately this could not happen as this event was postponed until Wednesday 21st December due to the competition being rained off; very unusual as we rarely have such consistent rain and our competitions curtailed. It is usually such a good day with a good atmosphere in the Club House afterwards, helped along by a few glasses of mulled wine, but this was also postponed. The results will be in next month’s edition of the Costa Calida Chronicle.

Turkey Trot Competions

camposol golf Mary Armitage winner of the Ladies Turkey Trot CompetitionThe Ladies’ Stableford Turkey Trot Competition took place on 13th December with a Ladies’ Christmas Lunch afterwards at Cat’s Bar. First, second and third were Mary Armitage, Debbie MacLachlan and Pat Morgan respectfully. After lunch the ladies had a Fun Quiz supplied and read out by Ida Halton which was much appreciated. The winners of the quiz were called ‘Betty’s Bunch’ comprised of Penny, Polly and Betty.

The Men’s Turkey Trot and Christmas Lunch was the day after on 14th December, with Christmas Lunch at the Club House which everyone enjoyed. The 3 winners of the day were 1st Eugene Toye, 2nd Jack Brennon with Norman Morgan 3rd.

The CGA had presented 50€ to the Men and 30€ to the Ladies to be used to buy meat vouchers for the Turkey Trot prizes. The difference in the amounts was due to pro rota men to lady golfers.

Christmas Dinner Dance

camposol golf Costas 9th DecemberThe Camposol Golf Association booked the ever popular Hotel Costa’s Celebration Rooms Mazarron for their Christmas Dinner Dance held on 9th December. 112 revellers had a great night there as usual. The food, service and with the great value for money you cannot beat it as a venue.
