Captain’s Drive In

The Captain’s Drive In to celebrate the inauguration of the new Captain, Steve Dixon, took place on 24th December.

camposol golf Bob Evans Who Picked the Distance of Des´s DriveUnfortunately Steve has suffered a broken arm and could not drive off, therefore his Vice Captain Des Bunn had to step in and drive off for him. Steve had been taking bets for charity on how far Des would drive the ball and this was won by Bob Evans and 142€ was raised for FAST.

The weather was not very kind to the participants of the competition and this was reflected in the scores. There was quite a cold wind blowing and it tried to rain a few times. The day’s prizes were sponsored by Avalon and Charlene their representative helped Steve present the prizes to the following winners:

Christmas Club de Golf Competition

The 1st Christmas Club de Golf Competition took place on Wednesday 9th December and the 2nd Christmas Competition took place on Thursday 17th December. The prizes for both events were presented after the competition on 17th December and the results will be shown in the next issue of the Costa Cálida Chronicle. We all look forward to these annual events and a good time is usually had by all. We usually have mulled wine and mince pies generously supplied by The Club House.

The Christmas Dinner Dance was held on 18th December – more next month!

The Costa Cálida Ladies’ League

Unfortunately one of our teams dropped out of the League and it was not thought possible to have a league with only 3 teams in it, therefore the Ladies League has folded. We do not want to lose touch with the friends and acquaintances we have met from other clubs, so we have agreed we will have friendly competition team games with the 3 different golf course with the ladies mixed in together. The first of these games will be scheduled for the New Year. If you are group of Lady Golfers who would like to be part of our group, you are very welcome to join us and then we could resurrect the League, as we are we will still be playing at reciprocal golf courses at reduced green fees. If you are interested in joining us for next year’s season or would like more information please contact Betty Roberts at
