Our regular Maintenance Team has continued with street cleaning, watering and weeding, but we have had to concentrate on a spraying programme for the many large weeds appearing during the very hot weather, so the whole sector has been sprayed this month with pet-friendly weed killer.
The Wednesday Volunteers have been filling potholes with fresh tarmac, planting donated plants (thank you!), weeding and have completed pruning of the large palm trees along the dual carriageway, but much of their time has been spent watering. The very hot weather continues, so please think of your own plants and those planted near your casa by our volunteers; these temperatures and winds can be devastating.
We are appealing for new volunteers this month
Please join us on Wednesday mornings; 9am at the Welcome Wall. If you have a couple of hours to spare, your efforts will always be rewarded with a free breakfast and you can make new friends and get some muscle definition at the same time! There are lots of light jobs that need doing!
We are also in need of a new Secretary, so if you can spare a little time to take minutes at 8 meetings during the year and type them up, we would really appreciate it!
Please also get in touch if you have any unwanted gifts you would like to donate for our raffles; thank you.
Huge thanks also to the really kind people who donate to our bucket, together with those who are members of our Maintenance Scheme and of course those who have worked on individual areas near their own homes. Without your help and that of our volunteers, our sector would definitely not look as nice and it all makes a huge difference.
There may still be a few tickets left for our 60’s Night on Friday 28th September at the Golf Club, with Carl Thomas ‘The Big Welshman’. Tickets only 5€. Please contact John on 634 325 427 or Graham on 604 253 604.
Further information can be found on our chalkboards or on Facebook Camposol – C Sector Group.
