The Summer holidays are here again and all the returning holiday-home owners who donate to our bucket say they’ve noticed a huge difference since the last time they visited. Thank you to everyone for your donations and to those who donate any unwanted plants and pots (plus cool drinks offered to our Maintenance Team workers) Sorry if we wake anyone! The team begins sweeping, spraying and cleaning earlier on Mondays during Summer because of the relentless heat.  It’s impossible to clean streets quietly!

This month our Wednesday Volunteers have been…yes: watering!  They have also been sawing railway sleepers to build another raised sleeper bed behind the Welcome Wall, spreading another 14 tonnes of gravel along the perimeter road (we will order the final 14 tonnes when we have the manpower to complete this project) and trimming and dead-heading the established plants. All the palms along our section of the dual carriageway were also trimmed this month.

We welcome back volunteer Christine, but Project Manager Ken is currently in the UK and we look forward to his return.  His help with our watering burden is sorely missed. If you have any spare time, please give the plants near your casa some water.  Every area is suffering in these high temperatures.

If you would like to help us in another way, we are looking for a volunteer representative for C7 at the moment.  If you are interested, further information is available from Graham, our Chairman.

May we also politely request that dog owners pick up any mess their pets leave behind? It only takes a minute to put a bag in the bin and will keep the area smell, germ and poo-free – thanks!
