On 10 December an Extraordinary Full Council was held in place of the regular meeting for the month of December. At this meeting was discussed investments envisaged in the Municipal Budget. The Area Councillor, Andres Valera, noted the changes therein and investments and projects, because this change may take place before the end of this year thanks to the votes in favour of the government team.

Included in this programme is the construction of a ‘skate park’ and basketball court in the garden of San Pedro in Puerto de Mazarrón worth 60,000€, a BMX track at the Media Legua Sports Complex worth 60,000€, the end wall of said complex totalling 12,000€ ,new tennis courts and artificial lighting improvements at the Sports Complex in Mazarrón worth 18,000€ and under stadium lighting at ‘ Playasol ‘ worth 15,000€.

The Programme of asphalt replacement to public roads in several streets with a value of 77,072.73€ and improvements to the Canal bridge at Camposol worth 60,734.77€ , while the General Management programme will proceed with the purchase of a server for improving the municipal computer network worth 35,000€.

The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo , explained that ” because it was not possible to execute some projects budgeted for 2013 before the end of this year, we opted to take advantage of the money to move forward with other initiatives. ” The vast majority of them , as stated by the Mayor himself, ” are demands that neighbours and associations have been asking for and thanks to this amendment will not have to wait for 2014 to be executed .”
