Karate comes to Camposol

Saturday 28th March saw the Karate Kids, from Lloyd Stephenson’s Mixed Marshall Arts Academy giving a superb demonstration outside Rumours Bar on Camposol and finishing outside Trevi Bar and Salud Bar. Parents and friends joined forces to help collect donations and much-needed money was collected from local businesses and the general public. A total of over 300€ was raised for the Karate Kids and refreshments were given to the youngsters by Quicksave on Camposol.

The money raised will help towards buying equipment such as mats and pads for use during the twice-weekly classes for the Karate Kids – Mondays at Rumours and Wednesdays at Kennelly’s Bar, both on Sector B, Camposol. The Karate Kids include both boys and girls and they are taught respect and discipline whilst learning how to defend themselves. Lloyd, who has represented Great Britain in the English Karate Squad, is keen to give the local kids something to do and any extra money will be spent on special days out for the group.
