ADAPT (Association of English Speakers of San Pedro del Pinatar) will be holding our next monthly meeting on Saturday 7th June at 11 a.m. in The Casino in the town centre of San Pedro (opposite Mercadona, near the post office). As well as our monthly round up of activities and news sharing, we are pleased to announce a special speaker this month, María José Arce from Fundación CLUSTER, an organization dedicated to the protection and preservation of the Mar Menor.
María José will be giving a short talk in English during the meeting about the Mar Menor natural environment, including important information about the challenges of contamination and endangered species faced by the area. After a break María José will be continuing the talk with powerpoint images to explain environmental issues in more detail for those who wish to learn more.
María José is very keen to make contact with the English speaking community in the whole Mar Menor area and beyond to explain these issues to us and to give us the opportunity to participate in environmental work already underway in the area. For this reason ADAPT wishes to send out a special invitation to everyone interested in the environment to come along to the meeting. It is also hoped that, as a result of this visit, an environmental interest group will be formed under the umbrella of the ADAPT association.
